A social justice warrior might be able to beat Trump, but their focus is on the wrong problems. That’s not to say we shouldn’t work to make America a fairer, more inclusive society. We should. But to focus on that means to let the problems threatening all human existence fester when they demand immediate action or else.

Uncle Joe might talk tough about beating Trump to a pulp, but his hesitating, gaffe-prone speech suggests the opposite would be the outcome if he were paired with attack-dog Donald on a debate stage. And should he win, he’d be the same Neoliberal slave of big corporations that all establishment Dems since Bill Clinton have been. His approach to global warming would be to say it’s happening, but slavishly serve the fossil-fuel giants and big banks who pay best for political services rendered. No former neoliberal should be trusted, because the best of them are skilled at putting on a progressive patina while campaigning, then serving their monied masters as soon as they win.
