#FBR with Vetting

I finally got around to documenting my follow-back rules. You’re welcome to post a link to them if you think they work for you.

I follow back, but with vetting. Here’s my #FBR policy.

  • I do not block people for disagreeing with me. I block trolls. If the only way you know how to disagree is to launch school-yard insults, that gets a block.
  • I follow people. Bots are not people. I don’t knowingly follow bots.
  • I do not follow commercial accounts or people who only tweet their content and rarely or never give me a retweet.
  • I do not follow users who have their account protected (you can’t see the tweets of protected accounts until you send the owner a follow request and said owner decides to let you in). Protected accounts cannot be vetted, so I will not follow them.
  • I do not follow cam girls, lonely hearts, or salespersons who usurp DMs to hound me about investing, buying, donating, etc. Those who never take no for an answer do magically leave me in peace after being blocked.
