Obligatory Warning: Do not begin an exercise routine without checking with a competent doctor. Choose wisely, as some doctors will mount a knee-jerk objection to the elderly exerting themselves. A geriatrician, orthopedist, physiotherapist, or sports medicine doctor with experience helping aging patients would be a good starting point.
