I'm a war baby, now 77 years old and closing in on 78. I grew up watching the greatest generation. During WWII, my dad was a petty officer in the US Navy. All the adults who cared for me had survived the deprivations of the Great Depression. Their America was a very different one from the wreck we live in today.
