It depends on the country. I know that the Nordic States, Iceland, and New Zealand all use MMT to meet the needs of their citizenry. Sadly, too many nations with a sovereign, fiat currency embrace the economic lies of neoliberalism, confining social spending to policy space that blesses their billionaire class, but insisting on rugged individualism for their middle-class and poor.
