Being Fresh & New when You’re an Old Fart

Every danged day, even when your brain feels like it’s dust in the wind, you MUST be fresh and new. You promised yourself you would. And even if yourself is willing to make concessions, you promised your readers you would. They aren’t likely to be receptive to renegotiation.

I use the morning to check emails and visit good news aggregator sites to see what’s going on in the vast world around me. If I’m lucky, something engages me as I read, and I expand on that theme. When that doesn’t happen, I turn to my inner world with a piece like this.

To date, I’ve not had to dive into the million-plus listicles, many of them just a reordering of some other author’s list. To the degree I am able, I hope to avoid that need.

Hey, if you’re not a writer but have a killer idea for an essay, my blogging pen is free of charge. You can PM me.
