I Do, and Power Thesaurus Is a Huge Help Finding Word Heaven

Dear Medium writers, how many of you are aware of Power Thesaurus? If it’s new to you, as it was to me, give it a try when you have a concept in mind but are searching for the perfect word to express it. It’s not your run-of-the-mill online thesaurus, For instance, ‘strong’ returns over 4,000 results. Somewhere in the list, the pluperfect word, the one with the exact definition to fit your needs, sits waiting to be discovered.

Each synonym in the list has a part of speech and a tiny definition to its right. Clicking the down caret to the right of the mini-definition displays a fly-down with a full one. Hover over a given word to bring up three icons; a click to copy to clipboard, a pronounce button, and a stick-pin icon that lets you pin list items to consider further. There are more tools to explore, but why spoil the fun for you. If it sounds like something you could use, play with it and hover or click to see what it can do.

It’s a freemium website with minimal advertising; the pro version buys you add free use and additional power user tools. Play with it and see if you’re as impressed with it as I am.

The praise here is my unsolicited opinion. I’m not being compensated in any way by PowerThesaurus.org.
